At Valley Inner Space, we see assessment as a comprehensive examination of the individual from multiple dimensions and areas of functioning. Assessment is aimed to obtain a deeper understanding of both strengths and struggles to inform programming, interventions, supports, and adaptations. Part of the scope of assessment may include providing diagnoses or recommendations for programming adaptations, which are meant to facilitate a shared understanding of individual difficulties or exceptionalities, but are never used to minimize an individual identity to a label. Assessments at Valley Inner Space are undertaken with the highest ethics of care and are guided by the unique needs of each individual client and family.
Each assessment is individualized and involves an initial intake/background gathering session, testing sessions (guided by the assessment referral question), analysis and synthesis of assessment results, summarizing of assessment information into a comprehensive report, and report review with client and/or parents as appropriate. For psychoeducational assessments, at the request of parents, results can also be shared with appropriate school personnel.
Costs of assessment vary and depend upon the nature of the referral question and amount of testing involved in addressing the specific inquiry and goals of the referral. For an estimate of assessment costs, please contact info@valleyinnerspace.ca.
Assessments are billed out by the hour at $210/hour.
